Organisation Profile

GIST Cancer UK are a network of patients and carers affected by GIST, sharing experience and offering mutual support. We raise awareness about GIST & represent patient interests at National and International meetings.

Working to support an infrastructure that supports research and improves patient care, we hold meetings for patients to meet each other and GIST specialists, to learn about GIST, treatment options and new clinical trials and we provide educational booklets and information.

We operate a private online patient & carer discussion/question and answer group in addition to Facebook & Twitter communities.

PAWS-GIST is a specialist branch of GIST Cancer UK which focuses on children, young people and all with wild-type GIST. We are a Clinical Focus Group whose aim is to find a cure for paediatric, adolescent, wild-type and syndromic GIST cancer. Our specialist clinics convene three times each year.
